I did a solarplate etching yesterday, and decided to run it through the press on the same piece of paper, first with blue ink and then with white. A slight shift in the registration created a pretty striking 3-d effect (in the squiggly shape on the right): I added some shapes from a collagraph and lino to cover up the plate mark from the solarplate. It would be interesting to see if I could reproduce that first accident to make an edition of it.
