Those patterns sitting on top of the surface are the latest marks that I added, using a mixture of matte medium and a little fluid acrylic, applied using a needle applicator. Here is a close-up taken horizontally:
It will be semi-translucent when it dries. Then I intend to add another wash of very thin, watery colour over the whole picture.
