We went out to the house on Friday, and spent Saturday and Sunday putting the Lazertran images onto the plexiglas panels. We were joined by our friends Ted and Jana Dawson, for a weekend of guitar playing, pizza eating, laughing ("pink or regular?"), and enjoying the warm autumn sunshine. Together with Patty, they also formed a three-person team to clean up the panels prior to printing:
I then began transferring the images by first soaking them for 30 seconds in a dish of water, then sliding the image off the backing paper and onto the plexiglass:
Here is the first panel after I had done the first few transfers:
Thanks to the help I had, I was able to complete all 12 panels by the evening. Here they are lined up on the sun room at the back of the house:
And here are three of the panels being held upright in column formation. This is the closest yet to how they're going to look when they're assembled, which takes place next weekend:
It's all starting to come together piece by piece.
